PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer carrying member having an electric hard plating layer free from an abnormal metal deposition part and having very accurate surface roughness, and prevented from causing a tailing phenomenon even in high-speed printing process. SOLUTION: This developer carrying member feeding developer while carrying it on its surface has an intermediate layer and the electric hard plating layer on a base plate, and a joining layer provided between the intermediate layer and the electric hard plating layer in order to improve contact between both layers is a substantially non-magnetic layer formed of substance whose volume susceptibility is <=1(μH×m<-1> ). |
