PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article sorting device constructed in a structure capable of reducing force required for driving a transfer rod and having resistance to collision of articles. SOLUTION: This article sorting device 1 has a transfer device for transferring articles from a main conveyor 10 to a branch conveyor 34. In the transfer device, a reciprocating member 22 reciprocating in a B direction substantially orthogonally crossing a carrying direction X of the main conveyor 10 is linked with the transfer rod 12 supported rotatably on a support shaft installed on one side of the main conveyor 10 and the transfer rod 12 is rotated by reciprocating of the reciprocating member 22.
