PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detection device for painting gun capable of detecting an abnormality of a painting gun automatically and easily. SOLUTION: Frequency analysis of vibration detected by a vibration sensor for detecting vibration of the painting gun is executed, and the value of a function acquired by multiplying an inner product function between a frequency at the normal time and a frequency during painting by the ratio between the magnitude of the frequency at the normal time and the magnitude of the frequency during painting is calculated, and the abnormality of the painting gun is judged based on the calculation result.
