摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesia monolithic refractory used for repairing, which has a less solubility of boron, phosphorus, titanium, aluminum, zirconium, etc., into molten steel and an excellent durability. SOLUTION: The refractory is used by mixing with water, where (a) magnesia is a major component, (b) the contents of boron and phosphorus are <=0.2 wt.%, respectively, (c) the content of titanium is <=0.4 wt.%, and (d) the content of aluminum is <=2 wt.%. Natural magnesia clinker with titanium content of <=0.07 wt.% and/or electrofused magnesia clinker with titanium content of <=0.07 wt.% prepared from natural magnesia clinker is used as magnesia along with a lactate as a binder, ultrafine silica powder of 1-5 wt.%, and carbon of 1-5 wt.%.
