PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating a digital item as the dealing unit of multimedia data for electronic commerce such as the preparation, work ing, transaction, transmission, management, preservation, and consumption of multimedia data. SOLUTION: The dealing unit of multi-medial data for electronic commerce is specified with a digital item. The digital item has a hierarchical structure constituted of a component, item, and a container. The component includes a resource such as audio, video, graphic, and text, an anchor indicating the resource, a descriptor describing the resource, a use condition being information related with the management and use rule of the resource, and a function condition being functional use condition information. The item is constituted of a plurality of components, and the container is constituted of a plurality of items. |
