PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator with a structure in which even when an inductor for oscillation embedded in the oscillator is trimmed through an opening provided on the rear surface of a dielectric substrate, the opening may not be blocked, and to provide an optimum method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The oscillator 50 comprises an electronic component 52 mounted on the surface 51a side of the dielectric substrate 51, ground conductor plates 15 and 20 similarly provided at a predetermined interval in the interior 51c and on the rear surface 51b of the substrate, and an inductor 18 for the oscillation provided between the conductor plates. An opening 54 having a short side width W of 0.1 to 1 mm is provided on the rear surface 51b side of the substrate 51. The opening is irradiated with a laser beam, and the inductor 18 for the oscillation is trimmed. The opening 54 is formed by providing through holes 21, 21 at a plurality of green sheet moldings 11 when the plurality of the green sheet moldings 11 are manufactured by molding a green sheet made of a dielectric raw material, laminating the green sheet moldings and then baking the laminated moldings.
