PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a direction control valve without a separate operating piston and to markedly reduce the length and the width of the directional control valve. SOLUTION: In a pneumatic direction control valve, provided with a spool 4 slidingly arranged in a through-hole 2 of a casing 3, the spool controls a pressure media flow in the casing from an inlet connection part 10 toward actuator connection parts 11 and 12 or from the actuator connection part to return connection parts 13 and 14 in relation to the position of the spool in the axial direction, pressure chambers 7 and 8 are formed by spool ends 5 and 6, at least one of acting faces 9 and 20 of the spool can be loaded by a control pressure against return force acting on the spool for switching the direction control valve, the spool has at its end an operating zone 15 whose diameter is enlarged, the control pressure for switching the direction control valve acts on the acting face of the operating zone, and the operating zone additionally controls the pressure media flow into the connection part 13, one of the connection parts of the direction control valve.
