PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information collection system that can easily cope with communication via the Internet and has high reliability in a local information collection in the system with excellent security. SOLUTION: A metering host 2 collects metering information S9 of metering meters 9a-9c in response to an information collection request message S2 from a metering host 2 via information terminals 8a-8c, a network 7 of an intranet, a switching hub 5, address management devices 4a, 4b and a network 3 of the intranet. When the information terminals 8a-8c make communication with the Internet 10, the switching hub 5 outputs a message received via a firewall 6 to only the network 7 but does not output the message to the network 3.
