PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the occurrence of the electrostatic discharge damage of a device by connecting an earth terminal in the device which is used for control of a spindle motor, a pickup device, etc., and is weak for static electricity to a base frame so as not to produce static electricity on the device. SOLUTION: This drive has a base unit chassis 21 provided with a spindle motor 23 so that an optical disk D is removably mounted and rotationally driven, and an optical pickup device 25 to record and reproduce an information signal on the optical disk D which is movably supported on the base unit chassis 21 and mounted on a turntable 24 to be rotationally driven. Further, this drive is provided with a base frame 94 consisting of an electrical conductor to support the base unit chassis 21, a base unit cover 100 consisting of an electrical conductor covering the base unit chassis 21 to prevent the static electricity charged on the base unit chassis 21, and a clip 104 and a lead wire 107 for connecting a base unit cover 100 and the base frame 94 to run the static electricity charged on the base unit cover 100 to the base frame 94.
