PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for download, with which requested software can be downloaded even when a receiver is lacking in required resources. SOLUTION: When the program receiver 101 is lacking in the resources required for a program 155 of requested software, on the basis of a program dependent table 109, a receiving possibility deciding means 106 selects the program of low necessity out of programs held in the program receiver 101 at present and a user selects a program to be erased out of these selected programs by an erase program selecting means 110. Then, the program receiver 101 erases the selected program and turns resources required for running the program of the requested software into non-used state.
