1,235,130. Corrosion inhibiting. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Oct. 25, 1968 [Oct. 30, 1967], No. 50832/68. Heading C7E. [Also in Divisions G2-3] Diazonium salt solutions have their corrosive action reduced by adding between 0À001% and 1% by weight of propylene oxide and optionally between 0À0005% and 1% by weight of nitrite ions; both weights being based on the total weight of the solution. Generally the solutions contain the couplers and the phenolic compounds used as fade inhibitors set out in Specifications 1, 231, 269 and 1, 231, 270 and are coated in a binder such as a cellulose ester or a vinyl polymer on a polyester support. The material may be cured at 75‹ C. before imagewise exposure and development. The source of nitrite ions is preferably an alkali metal nitrite and the reduced corrosive effect is shown with respect to stainless steel. |
