METHOD FOR EDITING GRAPHICS OBJECT BY USING COMPUTER IMPLEMENTED TOOL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a revolutionary volumetric sculpting system for allowing a user to execute excellent control while directing and arranging a sculpting tool with respect to the surface of a digitized model by using an adaptively sampled distance field(ADF). SOLUTION: In this method for editing a graphics object, a graphic object is expressed by an adaptively sampled distance field by using a computer implemented tool, and then a mask is defined by the distance field so that the graphics object can be edited. Then, the tool is iteratively moved with respect to the object while the movement is limited according to the mask so that the object can be edited.
