PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing gelled electrolyte for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor wherein ion conductivity is high since content of electrolytic solution to polymer component in the gelled electrolyte is large, thermal resistance form stability is ensured, and further manufacturing of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is enabled by using the conventional manufacturing process almost as it is. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing gelled electrolyte is provided with an electrode manufacturing process, an assembling process, an impregnation process wherein impregnation of gelled electrolyte forming composition is performed, and a heating process. The impregnation process is arranged after the electrode manufacturing process or the assembling process. In the heating process, heating is performed at 50-170 deg.C. The gelled electrolyte forming composition contains polymerizable monomer, electrolytic solution and radical polymerization initiator, and forms gelled electrolyte by gelation in the heating process. The polymerizable monomer contains monovinyl monomer and polyvinyl monomer.
