PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition having high detergency, having excellent persistence of detergency in cleaning by directly coating the detergent on a flexible washing tool with a small amount of water, and having a low metal corrosivity. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition comprises (a) a sulfuric acid ester salt of a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether having an 8-16C alkyl group and 1-6 average addition molar number of the oxyethylene group, (b) a specific amine oxide-type surfactant, (c) a specified ampholytic surfactant, (d) each specified amount of a sulfite and/or a hydrogensulfite, and water. The liquid detergent composition has a viscosity within a specified range at 20 deg.C, and provides a diluted product having a viscosity higher than that of the undiluted liquid.
