PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dental material having a color temporarily changeable by a simple manner to a color visually discriminable from natural dental substance and returning to the original color after a time sufficient for the processing of the dental material. SOLUTION: The dental material contains at least one polymerizable ethylenic unsaturated monomer, at least one polymerization initiator for low-temperature polymerization, thermal polymerization and/or photopolymerization and at least one thermochromic pigment.
