<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capstan belt tension adjusting mechanism that is advantageous in cost and space without any reduction in performance. SOLUTION: In a magnetic recording and reproducing device provided with an encircling capstan belt 5 transferring the driving force of a capstan motor 2 to the first gear 4, the position of the first gear 4 can be movable in the direction where the tension of the capstan belt 5 can be adjusted, and the central rotation axis 4a of the first gear 4 is arranged on a tension adjusting plate 20 arranged with its rotation-and-movement possible around the central rotation axis 6a of the second gear 7 meshing with the first gear 4.</p> |
