<p>1,027,534. Injection moulding. H. GOLLER, and N. CHATELET, [trading as GEB. ANKERWERK GOLLER]. March 13, 1963 [Dec. 11, 1962], No. 9927/63. Heading B5A. A machine for injection moulding articles from cross-linking synthetic or natural substances (e.g. rubber) has a mould which is so isolated that the cross-linkage reaction is effected within the mould without affecting material in runners leading to the mould. Material is fed through a nozzle 6, channel 7, runners 8, 81 and gates 9, 91 into mould cavities 10, 10<SP>1</SP>. Cooling channels 12, 13, 13<SP>1</SP> prevent cross-linkage taking place in the runners 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and gates 9, 9<SP>1</SP>. Cartridge heaters 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, 15, 15<SP>1</SP> cause the cross-linkage in the mould cavities. Alternatively, sources of high energy radiations or vibrations may be used, with suitable screening for the runners. Heat insulating air gaps or cooling channels 16 may also be provided.</p> |
