PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust-measuring apparatus, capable of measuring dust, at a low cost. SOLUTION: The dust-measuring apparatus comprises a disc 2, having a total reflection surface 3, formed to enable the dust to be adsorbed to one surface, an air-blowing means for blowing a predetermined amount of air to be measured to the reflecting surface 3 of the disc to adsorb the dust floating in the air on the reflecting surface; a semiconductor laser 11 for irradiating the total reflection surface of the disc with an optical beam H1; a scanning means for scanning the beam H1 on the surface 3 of the disc via a predetermined route at a predetermined speed; a photodetecting element 16 for photodetecting the reflected beam H2 of the optical beam from the surface 3 for outputting an electrical signal, in response to the photodetected amount; a digital converting means 21 for digitally converting the photodetected signal to be output as an analog value from the element 16 into binary values of the signal, corresponding to the part having the dust and the signal corresponding to the part having no dust based on a threshold; a counting means 22 for counting the length of the signal, corresponding to the part having the dust to be output from the means 21; and an arithmetic means 23 for calculating the dust amount by totaling the counted value of the means 22.
