PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent sheet-like key top that is small-sized, lightweight and thin, and yet is decorated so as to present iris color glossiness by selectively reflecting light of a specific wavelength, and its easy manufacturing method that can manufacture the sheet-like key top in a short time and inexpensively. SOLUTION: In this key top a cholesteric liquid crystal layer 41 composed of a liquid crystal polymer is formed on the back face side of a key top body 21, more specifically on the back face 21b of the key top body 21. Preferably, the liquid crystal polymer is an optically active polyester containing at least one kind of hydrocarbon unit as a constituent component, selected from the group consisting of an aromatic unit, a polycyclic hydrocarbon unit and an ortho-substituted aromatic unit having a hydrocarbon of 3-8 carbon atoms and/or a halogen as a substituent.
