PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide piezoelectric ceramics whose piezoelectric characteristics can be improved. SOLUTION: The ceramics contain a(Na0.5 Bi0.5 )x TiO3 +b(Na0.5 Bi0.5 )y TiO3 + cBaz TiO3 . The three kinds of compound contained enable the improvement of the piezoelectric characteristics. The state of these compounds may be a complete solid solution or may be not a complete solid solution. The composition ratio of a, b, and c is preferably a value in the range satisfying a+b+c=1, 0.45<=a<=0.99, 0<b<=0.35, and 0<c<=0.2, and more preferably in the range of b<0.25 and c<0.1. Within these ranges, the piezoelectric ceramics have a rhombohedral system perovskite-structure and a tetragonal system perovskite- structure. These composition ratios and the composition in each oxide preferably have the relation of 0.9<=ax+by+cz<=1.0. |
