PURPOSE: A clamping apparatus of a vehicle body welding jig is provided to improve supporting force of the vehicle body by holding the vehicle body with the simple and linear clamp and fixing the vehicle body in advance. CONSTITUTION: A clamping apparatus holds a vehicle body(2) on a jig(1) for welding by power of a cylinder, and the jig has a first support surface(11) inclined and a second support surface(12) protruded in the center. The clamping apparatus comprises a clamp(31) pivotally connected to a cylinder rod(4) and composed of a linear middle part contacted to the upper part of the second support surface and an inclined surface formed in the lower part corresponding to the first support surface, a first link(51) fixed to the clamp between the second support surface and the rod, and a second link(52) pivotally connected to the lower part of the first link and hinge-connected to the jig and composed of a support end(53) contacted to the side of the second support surface to support the vehicle body.
