<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedal device for a vehicle which can add a proper reaction force to a pedal. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a pedal reaction force adding means 4 to the pedal 1 of the vehicle, a stepping force detecting means 2 which detects the force applied to the pedal 1, and a pedal reaction force control means 3 which adjusts the output of the pedal reaction force adding means 4. The pedal reaction force control means 3 adjusts the output of the pedal reaction force adding means 4 according to the output of the stepping force detecting means 2. Only when the vehicle is completely at a stop, the reaction force added to the pedal is set and the safety of passengers including a driver can be secured. When the vehicle is traveling, the pedal reaction force control means 3 adjusts the reaction force to the pedal 1 according to the driving environment of the vehicle and an intention judgment of pedal operation made by the driver in the driving environment. When the driver does not intend to operate the pedal, the foot can lightly and sufficiently be placed on the pedal 1, but when the driver intends to operate the pedal, strong and smooth pedal operation is actualized.</p> |
