PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded product using a silane cross-linked polyolefin having no effect on the so-called environmental hormone and having good dispersibility, good thermal deformation rate and superb resistance to bowtie trees, and to obtain an electrical wire and cable using the molded product as an insulator. SOLUTION: The molded product of a silane cross-linked polyolefin is prepared by contacting a polyolefin molding, which is the product of graft- polymerization of a silane compound, with water. The composition of a silane cross-linked polyolefin used for the preparation comprises 100 pts.wt. of polyolefin and 0.005-0.5 pt.wt. of a metal salt of octylic acid or adipic acid or a mixture of these salts as a silanol condensation catalyst which promotes cross-linking. The electrical wire and cable are prepared by coating an insulator 3 consisting of the silane cross-linked polyolefin composition around an insulator 1. |
