<p>The alarm apparatus comprises a transmitter which is arranged to transmit a signal to a receiver when the sensing means of the alarm senses an unauthorised action. The alarm comprises storage means storing a number of predetermined mobile telephone numbers for which to send the signal. The signal communicates a pre-recorded voice message to the receiver. If the receiver is not able to communicate the message to the person at the first receiver then the transmitter will send the signal to the second receiver. Similarly, if the person at the second receiver does not receive the message then the transmitter will telephone the third and potentially to a fourth receiver. Once the message has been communicated to a person feedback is provided to inform the transmitter that the message has been received. However, the transmitter will continue to transmit a signal to the first receiver every thirty minutes and the transmission of this signal may enable the location of the transmitter to be tracked. The alarm does not provide any audible or any other signals to the unauthorised user and the alarm is therefore effectively a silent alarm.</p> |
