<p>It is intended to provide soluble beta-amyloid precursor protein secretion promoters which are efficacious in treating neurodegenerative diseases and nerve cell damages at cerebrovascular disorders. More specifically, novel compounds represented by the following general formula (I), salts thereof or prodrugs of the same are provided: (I) wherein R1 and R2 represent each hydrogen, lower alkyl, etc.; Ar1 and the ring B represent each an optionally substituted aromatic group; the ring A represents an optionally substituted benzene ring; the ring C represents an optionally substituted 4- to 8-membered ring which may be fused with an optionally substituted ring; X represents CH or N; and Y represents CH or N.</p> |
