In a thread rolling machine, the work blanks (22) are fed between a stationary die (12), and a reciprocating die (14), by a reciprocating blade (28). The latter is screwed to a bracket (30) at (32), the bracket carries pivots (38), (40), and is swingably mounted about pivots (48), (50) in a block (42), by two sets of links (52), (54) and (56), (58). Blade (28) is urged to the right by a spring-urged plunger (82), which acts on a link (83). A cam and follower (68), (71) control the movement of the blade through links (72), (74), and a turn buckle (79), and the follower is urged into engagement with the cam by plunger (82), links (74) are urged into engagement with a stop (85) by a spring-urged plunger (88), and by retracting stop (85) follower (71) can be retracted from cam (68) to stop the feed of blade (28). During setting up, blade (28) may be retracted from below the blank feed track (20), by rotating a lever (90) to engage link (83). |
