METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING UNDERWATER WALL DEFECTS USING LASER BEAM GENERATOR AND LEAD WEIGHT

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for measuring underwater wall defects is provided to allow measurement to be easily performed, while improving speed and accuracy. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring underwater wall defects, comprises a first step of inserting a measurement unit(30) into an underwater storage reservoir(40); a second step of searching defects at the wall of the underwater storage reservoir through a camera(35) of the measurement unit; a third step of permitting the measurement unit to be closer to the wall of the underwater storage reservoir such that the defect at the wall is displayed onto a first monitor and a second monitor; a fourth step of projecting slit beams to the wall by using a laser beam generator(34); a fifth step of transmitting the image obtained from the camera, to a computer through an image board; a sixth step of measuring the tilt value of the slit beam by the digital signal transmitted to the computer; a seventh step of calculating horizontal angle of the camera from the tilt value of the slit beam and the tilt angle of the laser beam generator; an eighth step of comparing the horizontal angle of the camera and a preset value; and a ninth step of automatically measuring length of defect of wall of underwater wall by rotating image of the camera in a vertical direction and displaying length of the defect onto the second monitor.
