The sleeping area supporting frame (30) is assembled of a head part (32), a central part (34), a lower part (36), and a foot supporting part (38). When the bed is converted into a sofa by swiveling various levers (7, 12, 14, 15, 18) attached to the individual sections around three horizontal axles (33, 35, 37) the head part (32) is folded into a vertical position, the central part (34) is used as the seat in a horizontal position, the lower part (36) is vertically positioned and the foot supporting part (38) is folded back in order to lie on the floor, parallel to the seat area (34). The mattress (28) can be accommodated inside the cube formed by the folded frame (30).
