The present invention relates to polymeric resins that have been impregnated with insect repellents and methods for making same. In particular, the insect repellents contain citronella oil and d-limonene. Additionally, the present invention relates to products formed from insect repellent impregnated polymeric resins and methods for making same. Preferred products such as, for example, plastic tablecloths, plastic garbage receptacles and plastic garbage/lawn bags are described.
