The seat back adjuster has operating levers (7) connected to and around the body (8) of a handwheel operating an eccentric (4) interconnecting fittings fastened to the seat and seat back respectively and are pivotable between a first pivoted position which corresponds to the locked position, and a second pivoted position which corresponds to the released position.
