A signal generator (01) and antenna are used to produce an electromagnetic field of appropriate frequency into which a coil (06) that is to be tested is placed. A second antenna is connected to a signal detector (04) in order to measure changes in the magnetic field caused by the test coil. The test can be repeated for a number of frequencies.
