The multiple wheel arrangement consists of a group of road wheels (1) and a group of at least one off-road wheel (2) each with tyres suitable for the respective surfaces. The axles of the road wheels and off-road wheels are height adjustable relative to each other in such a way that either only the road wheels or only the off-road wheels, or both wheel groups, are in contact with the running surface. The road wheels and off-road wheels have a common double cranked axle (8,9) which is rotatable. The axles of both wheel groups are supported on the body (5) of the vehicle independently of each other.
