PURPOSE: Provided are methods, kits and compositions for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder, acute stress disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, somatization disorder, specific social phobia, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, anxiety associated with a medical condition and in particular anxiety associated with Alzheimer's disease, adjustment disorder with anxious mood, dysthymia, specific phobia or fibromyalgia. CONSTITUTION: A pyrrole derivative is represented by the formula(1), wherein A forms with the pyrrole ring an isoindoline ring system; Het is a naphthyridinyl radical, which is unsubstituted or substituted with a halogen,(1 to 4C) alkyl, (1 to 4C) alkyloxy, or (1-4C)alkylthio radical; Y is a CO, C=NOH or CHOH radical; and R is a straight or branched chain alkenyl radical containing 3 to 10 carbon atoms; a straight or branched unsubstituted alkyl radical of 4 to 10 carbon atoms; an alkylradical of 4 to 10 carbon atoms that is substituted by hydroxy, alkyloxy, cyclohexyl or dialkylamino; phenyl; or benzyl.
