CALIBRATION METHOD OF IMAGING SYSTEM, FINAL APPEARANCE PREDICTION METHOD OF IMAGE, MULTI COLOR IMAGING SYSTEM, AND INK-JET PRINTER

PURPOSE: A method of calibrating an imaging system, a method of predicting the final appearance of an image, a multi color imaging system, and an ink-jet printer are provided to quickly and conveniently compensate the change in the appearance of a printed image caused by variables in the image change process. CONSTITUTION: A method of calibrating an imaging system comprises steps of printing a test patch having a desired test patch appearance(60); scanning the test patch to identify an initial test patch appearance; determining an appearance-affecting condition(62); predicting a settled test patch appearance based on the determined appearance-affecting condition and the initial test patch appearance(64); comparing the predicted settled test patch appearance with the desired test patch appearance to yield a correction factor(65); and calibrating the imaging system to apply the correction factor to a subsequent printing operation(67).
