<p>A device controlled by a host computer enters a sleep mode by its own decision and can be reset from the sleep mode by a reset signal from the host computer. If no data is passed via the ATAPI command data I/F (11) for a predetermined period of time, a CPU (12) outputs a sleep mode to a clock generator (15) and a drive power source block (17), so that they enter the sleep mode. In this state, when a CPU (31) of the host computer (2) outputs an HRST signal via an ATAPI bus (3) so as to reset an optical disc drive (1) from the sleep mode, the CPU (12) of the optical disc drive (1) receives the HRST signal by an IRQ signal reception block (12a) and outputs an instruction to reset from the sleep mode to the clock generator (15) and to the drive power source block (17). This information processing apparatus can be applied to an optical disc drive.</p> |
