Limiting or eliminating external light to the peripheral vision areas of the user reduces flicker. The aperture of the liquid crystal filter is dynamically adjusted to maintain a particular aspect ratio to match the image displayed by computers and television sets. The size of the aperture of the liquid crystal filter is user adjustable through a mechanical or electrical aperture system.
