A method of increasing methionine and/or methionine related metabolites in a plant is provided. The method is effected by expressing within the plant a cystathionine gamma -synthase encoded by a polynucleotide mutated in, or lacking, a region encoding an N-terminal portion of said cystathionine gamma -synthase, said region being functional in downregulating an activity of said cystathionine gamma -synthase in the plant. |
