PURPOSE: A security system of a content service of a broadcasting method and a controlling method thereof are provided to perform a transmitting service of corresponding contents according to an encoded symmetric key by assigning the encoded symmetric key to the contents and providing authenticated equipment to a subscriber. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting transmission station(10) assigns encoded symmetric keys to contents provided from a content provider(40), performs an authenticating process of a subscriber and equipment, and transmitting the encoded symmetric keys in a service process. A base station(20) transmits the encoded symmetric keys to each subscriber device(30) by using a broadcasting method such as a satellite or a public network. The content provider(40) provides contents by using a virtual private network. The subscriber device(30) stores a secret number of the equipment and a certificate of authentication and provides corresponding contents according to the encoded symmetric keys transmitted from the base station(20) or the broadcasting transmission station(10).
