PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing an Internet service and a local service and a method therefor are provided to simultaneously offer the Internet service and the local service such as a moving picture service, a video service, and a game service to a user by embodying an ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) modem of an ADSL network in which it is possible to simultaneously processing the Internet service and the local service. CONSTITUTION: An Ethernet interface unit(110) receives ADSL data from a subscriber PC and outputs the received ADSL data. The Ethernet interface unit(110) receives ADSL data and transmits the received ADSL data to the subscriber PC. An ADSL interface unit(120) receives ADSL data from an Internet network and a local server and outputs the received ADSL data. The ADSL interface unit(120) receives ADSL data and transmits the received ADSL data to the Internet network or the local server. A CPU(130) receives the ADSL data from the Ethernet interface unit(110) and routes the received ADSL data to the Internet network or the local server through the ADSL interface unit(120) according to a destination address of the ADSL data. The CPU(130) receives the ADSL data from the ADSL interface unit(120) and transmits the received ADSL data to the subscriber PC through the Ethernet interface unit(110).
