PURPOSE: A locking device of a sliding door is provided to keep the closed state of a sliding door firmly with a reinforced hanging projection, to decrease the bending degree of upper, lower hanging projections when opening a door compulsorily at the closed state, and to open and close a door with one key. CONSTITUTION: The locking device(8) of a sliding door(6) comprises a primary reciprocating support(10) provided with a long groove(24), a primary finger part(26) extended to one end of the primary reciprocating support(10), a primary driven gear(28) formed on one side of the primary finger part(26), a secondary reciprocating support(12) formed on the opposite side to the primary reciprocating support(10) and provided with a long groove(38), a secondary finger part(40) extended to one end of the secondary reciprocating support(12), a secondary driven gear(42) formed on one side of the secondary finger part(40), a driving gear(44) engaged to rotate between the primary driven gear(28) and the secondary driven gear(42), and a key part fixed to the driving gear(44).
