PURPOSE: A cellular phone operated when being approached is provided to be automatically operated when being contacted or used. CONSTITUTION: When the motion of a person is recognized before a cellular phone(1), an infrared sensor(4) senses the motion of the person and transmits the sensed signal to a processor of the cellular phone(1). When the hand of the person is contacted or approached to a character(13), a magnetic field sensor(10) senses that the hand of the person is contacted or approached to the character(13), and transmits the sensed signal to the processor of the cellular phone(1). When the person holds or uses the cellular phone(1) or the hand of the person is contacted to a side of the cellular phone(1), a contact sensor(5) senses that the hand of the person is contacted to the side of the cellular phone(1), and transmits the sensed signal to the processor of the cellular phone. The character(13) is composed as a plurality of illuminant portions, and is operated by the processor of the cellular phone(1). When signals are sensed by the infrared sensor(4), the magnetic field sensor(10), and the contact sensor(5), a speaker outputs an acoustic signal by the processor of the cellular phone(1). A microphone receives a sound inputted from the circumference of the cellular phone(1). The processor is successively or simultaneously operated according to an internal program, and is operated by the signals sensed in the infrared sensor(4), the magnetic field sensor(10), and the contact sensor(5).
