PURPOSE: Water accumulated in a fuel filter for a diesel automobile is detected by a water detecting device to indicate whether the water in the fuel filter is over a certain value. CONSTITUTION: A concave portion of a female screw shape is formed in lower part of a fuel filter to connect a male screw of a certain diameter. A sensing rod(50) of a smaller diameter than the concave portion is provided. A male screw portion(60) corresponding to the female screw is spaced from the sensing rod in a certain distance. A rotating knob(70) is fixed in lower part of the male screw portion and has a water sensing circuit. The water sensing circuit comprises a reference voltage generating portion, a detected voltage generating portion, a comparing portion, a switching portion.
