PURPOSE: A cylinder liner having a hot-wire is provided to stabilize the combustion and to actively lubricate a cylinder by quickly raising the temperature of the engine cylinder in cold-starting. CONSTITUTION: A coolant-temperature sensor(23) measures the temperature of coolant, with which a water jacket(22) of a cylinder block(20) is filled. A cylinder liner(30) has a cylindrical wall at which a plurality of holes(31) are formed. A hot-wire(40) is inserted into the hole of the cylinder liner, and heats the cylinder liner and raises the temperature of a combustion chamber(24) when the temperature of the coolant is less than a predetermined temperature. An electronic control unit(50) controls the power supplied to the hot-wire according to the temperature of the coolant. A relay unit(51) shuts off the power supplied to the hot-wire.
