A disc cartridge includes a cartridge case having an opening and a concave portion for rotatably containing a disc and a shutter for sliding the concave portion to close the opening. The cartridge case has a first engagement portion and the shutter has a second engagement portion. Only when the opening is in a closed state, the first engagement portion is engaged with the second engagement portion with at least a part of the second engagement portion positioned below the first engagement portion.
