PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the installing necessary depth of a bullet stopping apparatus and to prevent the bullet capturing performance of the upper part of the bullet stopping apparatus from being lowered due to the expansion of an elastic film material in association with a hit by bullet. SOLUTION: The bullet stopping apparatus 12 is disposed at the rear side of the target 2 of a firing practice with bullets 8 of a gun and captures the bullets 8 shot from a shooter toward the target 2 by a deposited particular members 14. In this apparatus 12, at least the surface of the shooter side is formed of an elastic film material 13. The members 14 are filled in a casing in which a frame 16 is fixed. A throwing port of the members is provided at the upper part of the casing, and a discharge port of the members is provided at the lower part. The casing at the opposite side of the material 13 at (the rear surface of the apparatus) is interposed between both the throwing port and the discharge port, and is fixed by a plurality of support members 18 extended in a vertical direction.
