PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of improving thermal efficiency of an internal combustion engine by injecting hot water at an optimum temperature, quantity and timing. SOLUTION: An injection nozzle 3 and a heating device 4 are connected to the engine 2 in order. A injection pump 5 is connected thereto through a pipe 1a, and a water tank 6 is connected thereto through a pipe 1b. An automatic control device 7 is provided for controlling a supply pressure of the water by the temperature of the engine 2 and the water injected. The hot water is injected into the engine 2 at the optimum temperature, quantity and timing by a backflow preventive valve 8 for preventing vaporization and counterflow of the hot water in the pipe 1a.
