PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving-confirming device, with which the data amount of a receiving confirming file is reduced and the quantity and time of calculation required for confirming receiving can be reduced. SOLUTION: When contents are distributed from a server 5, a computer 7-1 decides whether these contents are already distributed contents or not. The computer 7-1 retrieves a receiving-confirming file 11 and decides whether the contents are new contents or not. When a contents ID is (n), an n-th bit from the head of the receiving-confirming file 11 is taken as '1'.
