SOLUTION: This carrier suspending device 1 comprises opening and closing bars 6a and 6b for opening and closing a plurality of pair of clamp arms 10a and 10b and 11a and 11b and a support frame 2 for supporting the opening and closing bars 6a and 6b. The support frame 2 is suspended from a carrier having a lifting mechanism, and hook parts (f) are formed at the bottom parts of the clamp arms 10a and 10b and 11a and 11b. Disk-like guide members 14a and 14b are installed near the hook parts (f) of the clamp arms 10a and 10b and 11a and 11b so that the guide members 14a and 14b can be inserted into the bores Wb of a cylinder block W. Elongated holes (h) are provided in the guide members 14a and 14b so that the clamp arms 10a and 10b and 11a and 11b can be opened and closed.
