PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an innovative tenoned fitting for connecting columns enabling a building with high base-isolation performance and earthquake resistance to be constructed such that all of columns, for example, take up shaking, by constructing the structure in a conventional way of erecting columns using tenons, without providing a special base-isolation device nor requiring any special construction methods and operations. SOLUTION: The tenoned fitting for connecting a column is used to connect a horizontal member such as a sill or a beam to a column erected on the horizontal member. The body of the fitting which protrudes from the horizontal member and which is inserted into a mortise in the bottom of the column is made of a core covered on its outer periphery with a flexible material.
