PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio and video reproduction control system which can show a video display to a viewer, starting from a desired time. SOLUTION: The audio and video reproduction control system is equipped with a master device 1 and a computer 2, and the master device 1 is equipped with an HDD device 11, an interface 14, a decoding board 15, and a CPU 10. The CPU 10 of the master device 1 receives a reproduction preparing command from the computer 2 and performs the reproduction preparing operation for reading moving image data out of the HDD device 11 and supplying them to the interface 14, and also receives a reproduction start command from the computer 2, after the preparing operation and commands the interface 14 and decoding board 15 to start specified operations, respectively. The interface 14 and decoding board 15 start the specific operations for reproducing and outputting the moving image data, upon receiving the operation start command.
